It is an extremely clean and well maintained bike that functions as equally well as an urban assault vehicle and as a touring bike.
The bike has a rack and Aldo top case that will swallow a laptop, messenger bag, or briefcase with ease. A 2nd top case by BMW is also included. It is smaller than the Aldo unit and is perfect if you don't need to carry everything at once. Tool around town with the lightness and skinniness that only a single cylinder bike can offer.
Add the genuine BMW pannier bags and you are ready to travel to the Catskills or Tierra del Fuego! The counter balanced engine is as smooth as any multi-cylinder on the highway. PIAA lights and BMW heated grips also make this a worthy touring machine in any weather. Even if you're only touring Central Park. Don't miss the swank lambskin seat cover that will treat your buns with respect.
Less maintenance, Better fuel economy, and it's a BMW. What's better than that?
Vertically Challenged?
This bike has been lowered 4 " (100mm) to accommodate Greta's 5'3 " stature. Both feet firmly on the ground at all times. But wait, There's more! All the original parts come with the bike in case you are 6'3 " and want to to plant your feet on the ground without your knees banging into your chin. Peter at Motoborgotaro will change the dog bones and restore the bike to original for a very reasonable price if you live in or near Brooklyn.
Also included are a battery charger for those long winter nights. An owner's manual to become familiar with your new best friend. A service manual for the problems you'll never have.
Serious Bits
- Mileage: 14933 (or in BMW-Speak " barely broken in " )
- Maintenance was done regularly by Max BMW of New Hampshire. The last maintenance and new tires were done by BikeWorx in Mass. Records are available for your inspection.
- Scuff on left fairing from parking lot tip over (see picture below). The end of the clutch lever and handlebar have scuffing too.
- Tires were replaced last year and have been used little because she broke her arm in a non-motorcycle mishap.
- Sweet Marsee tank bag with clear map window to keep you organized.
- A 2nd rear top box by BMW that is smaller than the Aldo unit for those light days.
- Original hand guards in case you want to do some off road riding or tire of bugs banging into your fingers.
Yes, I have the clear title!
